      Automotive Interior

Precision bearing in use in Automotive Interiors

As the automotive industry is evolving, possibly one of the most challenging effects of this will be the changes within the interior of the vehicle. New demands on seats for weight, design, adjustability and increased flexibility are rising with every innovation. However, the end goal of making seats safer, lighter, quieter and more comfortable does not change.

Over the many decades of supplying bushes for the interior of the vehicles, we at Saint-Gobain continue to develop and innovate in close collaboration with our customers offering new materials and designs to support innovations, in addition to the changing market requirements.

With the onset and introduction of electrification of vehicles and autonomous driving, the need for a consistent quiet quality feel over the lifetime is becoming more important.

NORGLIDE® Bearings, RENCOL® Tolerance Rings and the new SPRINGLIDE® Spring Energised Bearings offer manufacturers as well as designers the solutions for reduction in space, N.V.H., and number of components, whilst ensuring that lifetime, quality plus performance are retained

      Automotive Interior Applications

      Seat Mounted Armrest

Auto Interior Seat Mounted Armrest | RENCOL Tolerance RingsThe Seat Mounted Armrest uses a RENCOL® Tolerance Ring to aid assembly of the armrest into the seat system while providing a certain adjustment torque.

      Manual Backrest Release

Automotive Seat Manual Adjuster | Rencol Tolerance RingsThe Seat Manual Adjuster uses a RENCOL® Tolerance Ring to protect the adjustment lever from breaking in case of overstressing due to misuse.

      Slip Clutch

Automotive Adjusting Drive Unit | Rencol Tolerance RingThe Slip Clutches use a RENCOL® Tolerance Ring to protect the gears of the drive unit from damage in case of torque overload in the system due to misuse.

      Headrest Wing Adjustment

Automotive Headrest Wing Adjustment | Rencol Tolerance RingsThe Headrest Wing Adjustment uses a RENCOL® Tolerance Ring to generate a certain adjustment torque that creates consistent operational feel and maintains the adjusted position during driving conditions.

      Cabin Blower Motors

Automotive Cabin Blower Motors | Rencol Tolerance RingsCabin Blower Motors use a RENCOL® Tolerance Ring to mount an impeller to the shaft to provide sufficient retention to drive it at operating temperatures whilst reducing vibrations and noise.

      Seat Height Adjustment

Automotive Seat Height Adjustments | Norglide BearingsThe Seat Height Adjustment uses a NORGLIDE® Bearing to eliminate noises by dampening structure-born vibrations in driving conditions. Additionally they aid the assembly process by compensation of tolerances and misalignments.
