The NORGLIDE® Plain Composite – INTERLAYER – Bearing has high load capacity and excellent sizing ability.
The material structure is based on the NORGLIDE® Metal Backed Bearings by simply adding an INTERLAYER to improve the load capability. The metal interlayer can be plastically deformed with an additional sizing step during the assembly process to reduce freeplay between bearing and shaft, while the compound layer provides the low friction and NVH benefits.

Material with sizing capability to a large extent, with the capability of higher loads.
NORGLIDE® SM is a composite bearing material of compounded PTFE, stretched metal and metal backing. This material structure combines the bearing characteristics of PTFE compound tape with the sizing capabilities of stretched metal.
These bearings can also be designed without play. Bearings of 1 mm of wall thickness or greater can be produced with an interference fit in the housing. Various methods are available to protect the metal shell from corrosion.
Standard Thicknesses [mm]: 0.69 | 0.75 | 0.94 | 1.00 | 1.50
The TL in NORGLIDE® SMTL stands for a separately pre-compressed stretched metal in combination with a thinner compound tape. These plain composite bearings offer higher load capabilities while reducing the tolerance compensation compared to NORGLIDE® SM.
Standard Thicknesses [mm]: 0.5 | 0.75 | 1.00 | 1.50

For higher-load bearings that require sizing capabilities and highest corrosion resistance.
NORGLIDE® SMALC comprise an aluminium-clad steel backing layer, a stretched aluminium interlayer and a compounded sliding layer.
The corrosion resistance of the aluminium-clad NORGLIDE® solution means an impressive 1,000 + hours of salt-spray exposure with no red rust.
Standard Thicknesses [mm]: 0.75 | 1.00
Suitable for pivot points in a corrosive environment and high impact loads.
The composite bearings material consists of a pre-compressed stretched aluminium in combination with a thinner compound tape.
