      Automotive paint defects: Solving the problem of paint flakes around hinges

      With more than 40 kinds of paint defects occurring during the e-painting process the time and effort spent on rework is high. Rework leads to extended production schedules and a negative impact on production KPI's. The best way to reduce rework and fix paint defects is by preventing them in the first place!

      At Saint-Gobain, our expert engineers have developed the next generation bearing with a non-conductive sliding layer and conductivity notches to help reduce rework during the e-coating process. 

      Our innovative NORGLIDE® Bearing allows electrical current to flow through the bearing and this unique product eliminates paint bridges at the hinges reducing paint debris around the pivot points.
