Noise Testing

PTFE Sliding Bearing Rattle Testing

All tests conducted in Saint-Gobain, Bristol UK Anechoic chamber.  All tests were performed with:
  • 50 Hz sine wave excitation at 40 ms-2 acceleration
  • 0.2 mm clearance
  • all values shown are dB(A) and are the average of 5 tests each

NORGLIDE® Bearings provide superior vibration dampening properties which reduce the risk of irritating rattling noises.

Steel backing.  

Layer of porous sintered bronze is fused to the steel backing.  Sliding surface is PTFE with filler.

Composite material of compounded PTFE tape on a steel backing.

Composite material of compounded PTFE, bronze stretched metal and steel backing.

Steel backing.  Bronze stretched metal as inter-layer laminated with PTFE compound tape, filled with carbon and graphite.

Composite material of compounded PTFE tape on a metal shell with a rubber backing.
