Some examples of applications that are currently in use are simple fixing or bearing mounting of gears, pulleys, transmission modules, clutch assemblies, and commutator brushes, as well as:
- retaining bearings in washing machined rims
- mounting bearings and components onto rollers in photocopiers, printers and other paper handling machines
- fixing clutch assemblies into plastic housings
- mounting transmission component bearings in plastic housings on floor cleaners
RENCOL® tolerance rings are well suited to these applications due to being able to compensate for differential thermal expansion between components, allowing use of components with wide tolerances, allowing components to be press fitted together and only requiring low press forces that will not damage the bearings.

| Ball Bearing Mount  Use the RENCOL® tolerance ring to provide a simple and effective mounting device for ball bearings inside any housing.
Benefits: - Compensation for thermal expansion for dissimilar materials
- Alters frequency transfer between bearing and housing to reduce apparent noise and product vibration
- Alters frequency of noise generation from bearing
- Relaxes manufacturing tolerances of housings
- Makes allowance for small housing draft angle (approx. 1 degree)
